ESP's Knowledge Management contains:
ESP have developed a number of progress monitoring schedules that have been successfully implemented on previous projects. Examples of which are available below.
A number of these schedules have been formatted to automatically provide planned progress values for a given programme date. Some have also been formatted to include the inputting of actual progress values and where necessary weighted factors have been included to ensure the disparity of the installation is taken into account.
When a programme week number is inserted the schedule will automatically highlight (in red) the extent of the planned works and will display planned percentage values for that date. When actual progress values are inserted into the schedule the associated items will change colour (1-99% = yellow and 100% = green) and the actual percentage values will be automatically displayed.
Open one of the schedules that are formatted to provide planned & actual progress, click on the grey "Programme Week Number" box and enter a number. The "Week Ending Date" will change, and the input fields relative tothat programme date will turn red and the "Planned" progress values will automatically be inserted. Then add progress values into any of the input fields, these cells will change colour accordingly and the "Actual" progress values will automatically be inserted.
The formatting and weighting principles employed in these schedules can be modified, familiarity with Microsoft Excel will be necessary to set up these schedules for active use on a project. ESP can provide this service on a fee basis if required.
From the list below you can access the schedules in either PDF or "read only" Excel format.
ESP have developed a series of template programmes for assistance and reference purposes with the development of a co-ordinated M&E services installation programme. The template programmes provide examples of the installation criteria associated with most projects. They are supplemented with written definitions of each activity's predecessors and associated comments.
Some of the templates are stand alone examples of specific plant and switch rooms, whilst others relate to particular aspects or areas and they can all be downloaded from the links provided in this table:
The template programmes are also located in Part 4 of ESP's "A Guide to M&E Building Services Planning" manual. This contains explanations of how the template programmes relate to its fictitious project.
To access a directory of this manual, from which you will be able to navigate its content, please follow this link >>>
The manual contains an explanation of the pre-construction planning and programme development of the M&E building services within a high-rise office development. The content of the manual is portrayed in a manner that can be understood by persons with little or no M&E knowledge or experience.
The manual will benefit senior construction personnel because it promotes awareness of the importance of integrated M&E services planning in order to achieve a successful project completion date.
The manual is an ideal guide for students, managers and planners wishing to develop or further their knowledge of M&E services planning related to construction. The ideas and examples it contains will serve as useful references for experienced M&E planners.
